Bass jouhikko is a successful experiment in finding deep bass sound in traditional Scandinavian bowed lyres

I believe that this experiment was completely successful.
As a result, we have an instrument with a very deep chthonic sound, very versatile, capable of playing both very low and high notes, and goes well with throat singing.
This is a bowed lyre, which has its own deep timbre of sounding and is suitable for solo playing or for playing in a group.
Its overtone-rich sound is great for creating a Nordic atmosphere of ancient skalds and entering trance states.

We use C3 G2 C2 tuning as standard

Each Bass jouhikko body is made from a two piece of wood, this is a technological feature necessary to achieve the desired instrument thickness.
For the top of the instrument, we use the highest quality resonant spruce, which is the key to the high-quality and deep sounding of all musical instruments.
All lyres are equipped with fine tuners - for precise and easy instrument tuning
And we install horsehair strings, which have their own special, archaic timbre on all our bowed lyres.
